ORIGINAL: A 21-year-old Mountain View man is in police custody after a stabbing Saturday night in Fern Forest subdivision.

Anthony Rescia was charged Sunday with attempted second-degree murder and second-degree assault.

His bail is $55,000 and his initial court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.

According to police Capt. Greg Esteban of the Hilo Criminal Investigation Division, the stabbing stemmed from an argument at a Fern Forest home.

The alleged victim, a 26-year-old Fern Forest man, was last listed in critical condition in the Hilo Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.

A check of police records found no prior criminal record for Rescia other than contempt of court on traffic violations.
